The Cohesion Center evolved out of a passion for dance, diversity, and community involvement. We believe in supporting a diversity of dance and art forms as essential to the human spirit and we believe in providing a space where groups and individuals across the community can share, play, practice, and create.
The Cohesion Center for Dance & the Arts is operated by Cohesion Dance Project, a non-profit dance production company established in May 2012. Cohesion Dance Project envisions a healthy community that fully embraces dancers of varying ages, abilities, and experience levels. In order to advance that vision, the Cohesion Center was established to offer an affordable, safe, and accessible space for groups and individuals in the community to build, practice, and play.
Located in the former Columbia Paint warehouse, the Cohesion Center underwent a community-based renovation in 2015 to bring sprung floors and new walls to Studio A and Studio C. In 2017, the final phase of the Backstage Theater and the offices of Cohesion Center were completed.
